Whew, it has been a very long week for me and I am thrilled about the upcoming holiday weekend! Life as a Project Manager in the video game industry is a busy one, this week was no exception and unfortunately left me very little kitchen time. That being said, I look forward to the weekend and creating some tasty creations. The Labor Day holiday for me always brings a bit of sadness. Since the day I made the move to Orlando, I cannot help but get weepy by the mark of this holiday. It signifies the Indian summer that pushes its way into fall in the blink of an eye. That one final day mid-late September that you can remember wearing a tank top and sandals, only to reach for the box of fall clothes the next. The crisp, cool breezes that require a sweater at sundown. The way a hot coffee tastes so much better as it warms chilly hands. The rustling of the leaves when enjoying peace in a quiet house. There are so many things about the fall season I long for and will sadly miss out on once again. When Friday rolls around, I often fantasize about where I'd go if I were in NYC for the weekend. As I thought about it today, I have to admit, Saturday brunch at The Little Owl sounds amazing! On a trip to the city last February, my husband and I made this our final visit before heading back to the airport. What a fantastic brunch it was, leisurely and totally scrumptious. We had attentive and friendly service at the bar and to be honest, we were so comfortable and content, I dreaded walking out the front door. I'll eagerly await my next visit back to this quaint and homey little place, hopefully before the year is out...Little Owl we'll definitely be back for more.
