2013 was good to me. I vacationed hard in the first and second quarter with trips in March and April. We visited New York City, India and Paris, I'll carry those memories forever. My favorite image from each place:
I cooked a lot. Lamb was a highlight this year (lamb burgers above), I made it often and prepared it in many different ways, a trend I plan to keep in 2014. I also baked this ridiculous red velvet cake, a real red velvet, made with beets and cocoa.
I tried Pappy for the first time. It was incredible.
I was diligent with my workouts (to counter my consumption of course), going 3-4 times a week to MMA cage conditioning classes. I feel like I could destroy anyone and I'm perpetually sore, I like both feelings.
I collected a few new cookbooks this year but Polpo was my favorite. The book is absolutely beautiful and I love how simple the photos are and they way look on the matte pages. The tiramisu recipe in this book is the best I've ever had.
I listened to this song over and over, Telegram - Follow
This is the End was my favorite comedy. This movie is exactly my humor.
I made some art but not as much as I'd like. This one I love. Cheers to health, happiness, more travel, more cooking, more music, more laughter and more creativity in 2014!
